Investigate the Potential Renewable Energy of Microalgae Spirulina sp Using Proximate Analyzer, SEM-EDX, and Thermogravimetry

Microalgae Spirulina sp which has been cultivated by the Brackishwater Aquaculture Development Center, Situbondo Indonesia were tested for their potential energy performance using proximate analyzer, SEM-EDX, and thermogravimetry. The analyzer showed volatile matter (VM), fixed carbon (FC), moisture, ash content (AC), total sulfur of microalgae 68.15, 12.57, 11.22, 8.06, 0.67 (wt%, ar), respectively, gross calorific value (GCV) is 4971 kcal/kg (dry basis). SEM-EDX test morphology chemical sp. dominated (C) oxygen (O), then followed chlorine (Cl), sodium (Na), potassium (K), (S), magnesium (Mg), phosphorus (P). Thermogravimetry pyrolysis resulted thermogravimetry (TG) analysis derivative (DTG) curve, divided into three different steps. moisture microalga was vaporized at first step, started 27°C, finished 173°C with a decomposed mass about 13.81% initial mass. second step began end vaporize ended around 618 °C. gasification process occurred in loss 57.9% last residual substances, 618°C, stopped 995°C 24.6% from
